Worm Compost Tea: The Expert Gardeners Secret Ingredient

What In the World is Compost Tea?

Compost tea is simply a liquid form of compost. On our farm we harness the amazing power of vermicompost when brewing our tea. And no, we don't drink it. At all. And neither should you.

Research shows the microorganisms in compost are what create the magic, enabling plants to actually use the nutrients that are present in the soil. Compost is an excellent soil amendment, and is extremely beneficial for building soil structure and health. The downsides that we deal with here are (at least) twofold:

  1. At $50-60 a yard, it's really expensive when creating and amending your garden beds.
  2. It's hard to produce enough compost on a small farm or homestead to keep up with the demands.

Compost tea doesn't add organic matter, but what it does do is deliver the biology that soil needs to enhance nutrient uptake and produce healthier and more productive plants. At a fraction of the cost. It's easier to apply, easier to transport, and lighter on the wallet.

We use an aerated brewing process, which has been shown to create the highest quality worm compost tea. The downside is that it needs to be used within a few days of brewing. The good news is we do it for you!
